Author Guidelines
Articles must be written in either Indonesian or English. The article structure must systematically include: title; author name(s), abstract with keywords; introduction, methods, results and discussion, conclusion, and references.
The article title should be written in either Indonesian or English using Palatino Linotype font, size 14 bold, with a maximum of 15 words. Authors’ names should be listed without academic titles and must include the study program, institution, and country, placed below the article title. If the manuscript is written by a team, an asterisk (*) must be added to indicate the corresponding author. The font style for authors' names is Palatino Linotype, size 11 pt, and for the study program, institution, and country, size 10 pt.
The abstract and keywords must be written in both Indonesian and English. Each abstract should be between 150–200 words, and keywords should consist of 3–5 words or phrases. The abstract should include: (a) a relevant overview of the article; (b) research objectives; (c) methods: briefly describe the main methods or theoretical framework used; (d) results: summarize the main findings of the article; and (e) conclusion: present the main conclusion or interpretation. The abstract must be written using Palatino Linotype font, size 9 pt, with single line spacing.
The article must be typed in Microsoft Word using Palatino Linotype, size 10 pt, single-spaced. Manuscripts must be submitted online via the Open Journal System (OJS) at: https://journal.umkendari.ac.id/index.php/parabela/index
The INTRODUCTION section must elaborate on: (a) a clear background, (b) a clear problem statement, (c) relevant literature on the issue, (d) the proposed approach or solution, (e) the novelty or innovation of the research (in 3–6 paragraphs), and (f) the research objectives or expected significance.
The METHODS section can be presented with sub-sections according to the research design or procedures used. The rationale for the chosen design must be explained and supported by relevant theories. Data collection procedures should be described concisely, avoiding unnecessary normative parts. Data analysis techniques must be explained in detail, including how conclusions are drawn.
The RESULTS AND DISCUSSION section can be structured with sub-sections according to the research design, research procedures, and/or other relevant aspects to systematically describe research findings. Results may be presented with tables or figures/graphs to aid reader understanding. Each table or figure/graph must be accompanied by a comprehensive discussion and supported by relevant references.
The CONCLUSION section must answer the research objectives. It should not merely repeat the results and discussion. It must also include the potential for developing the research findings and possible applications in future studies (based on the results and discussion). Conclusions must be written in essay form, not as bullet points or numbers.
REFERENCES must adhere to the following guidelines:
a. Use the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th edition style.
b. The reference list must include at least 20 references, with the following distribution:
(1) 20% from international journals and/or Scopus-indexed journals;
(2) 50% from nationally accredited journals (Sinta 1–3);
(3) 20% from nationally accredited journals (Sinta 1–6);
(4) 10% from books, theses, and dissertations.
c. References must be from the last 7 years.
d. Authors must cite at least 2 articles published in Parabela: Jurnal Ilmu Pemerintahan & Politik Lokal.
e. Use single spacing within entries and add a single space (or at least 6pt spacing) between entries.
